Macho Again to run in Preakness
Trainer Dallas Stewart said Macho Again, winner of the Derby Trial, will be competing in this Saturday’s Preakness.
Fellow trainer Todd Pletcher said he was delaying his decision on Harlem Rocker until early this week.
If Pletcher brings Harlem Rocker, the field will be one short of the maximum total of 14. With three days remaining until the draw that sets the field, that number still could rise or fall.
“We have been looking at the field,” said Stewart, the trainer of Macho Again. “We know Big Brown is there, but we feel we can compete with those other horses. Looking at the race, I think we have an excellent shot of beating a lot off horses. It is a good field, but we feel we fit.”
